What kinds of content recommendation schemes do we want (ranking/rating)

I will be installing a module to do this soon... But worth thinking about.

Impact ranking?
Sustainability?
Visibility
Repeatability
Clarity and applicability
"Usefulness"
"Fun" ? Why not?
Expert rankings versus full community? How would this be done?
